As the Vietnamese F&B industry is flourishing at its finest, the industry is experiencing a major shortage of high-quality manpower. This has created huge challenges for restaurant owners and managers who now need to both develop and retain their talented staff. Understanding the ongoing obstacles, Vietnam Gastronomy Tourism Development Program organized by Vietnam Hospitality Network (VHN) wants to assist the country’s foodservice industry through this month workshop about Manpower Trends and Training Solutions in the F&B Industry.
On August 11th, the workshop organized by VHN at Hospitality Hub, 11 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Da Kao Ward, District 1 with the attendance of Mrs. Tong Thi Nhi Ha – Human Resource Director of New World Saigon has attracted many participants who are managers and owners of F&B establishments in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event was expected to start at 8.30 AM but the attendants arrived very early to network and get acquainted with each other as well as with Mrs. Ha.
Mr. Chu Hong Minh – CEO of VHN briefly introduced this event is one of the workshop series under Vietnam Food Tourism Development Program. The program aims to amplify Vietnamese foodservice industry and to leverage it to become “Kitchen of the world”.
Next, Mrs. Ha commenced an ice-breaking game, where everyone had the chance to introduce themselves as well as to promote their establishments.
Continued with the presentation, Mrs. Ha went through some key challenges in the hospitality industry manpower by analyzing data and figures about turnover ratio, developing speed of the industry in Ho Chi Minh City, etc.. From here, she elaborated the importance of high-quality and Millennial human resources. Next, a group discussion activity, where all participants shared their establishments’ practices of solving manpower problems, was carried on.
Finally, the Q&A section ended the workshop . During this section, plenty of questions were asked not only for Mrs. Ha but also for the participants who are experts in the industry. After the workshop, many attendees stayed to network and exchange business cards.
The workshop Manpower Trend and Training Solution in the F&B Industry is part of RAV Training Program which is implemented and operated by Hospitality & Tourism Solutions (HTS Group) in cooperation with VHN.
